Rudolf Friedmann founded his namesake fine jewelry manufacturing firm in New York City in 1950. He was a European master jeweler trained in the craft by his father. Much has changed since then, but in meaningful ways the firm Rudolf founded remains true to its heritage of European craftsmanship. Rudolf’s daughter, Fay, son-in-law, Alexander, and his grandson, Glenn, continue to operate the firm with the same commitment to excellence in design and workmanship that Rudolf was dedicated to during his lifetime.
In an era of mass production, including in the jewelry industry, we still make many one of a kind pieces. We still run our own jewelry workshop. We still create a majority of our products in the United States. When one calls our office, more often than not, one of our family members will answer the phone. Most importantly, we really are still all about the jewelry.
Our signature gold jewelry is created using a variety of techniques to assure the best outcome; while many of our competitors are limited to lost-wax casting, we incorporate several technically complicated machine tooling processes in our production. In addition, our gold jewelry requires significant hand craftsmanship by skilled artisans to meet our exacting standards. Our etched finish, for example, is added by hand to our jewelry, creating a unique and enduring statement.
We adorn our jewelry with the finest diamonds, color stones and pearls available. We have traveled across much of the globe to source our gemstones and are fortunate to have partnered with many of the finest suppliers.
Our design philosophy emphasizes wearable jewelry for day and evening; clean lines, rounded curves, sophistication and elegance. Our collections are graceful, their effortlessness disguising the enormous attention to detail that goes into them. With each piece of our jewelry, Rudolf Friedmann’s legacy is being honored and carried on.
